Hi there, I’m Amir.
Welcome to my space, where I write about ethical tech, digital sovereignty, and reclaiming control in a world dominated by Big Tech.
I’ve spent years helping organizations scale with digital tools - and I’ve seen firsthand how dependency on a few corporate vendors doesn’t just limit flexibility or inflate costs. It erodes autonomy. When your tools, data, and workflows are locked into someone else’s ecosystem, you’re not just paying with money - you’re paying with freedom.
For individuals and small businesses, this is even harder. Most don’t have the time, budget, or expertise to research alternatives, let alone untangle themselves from the status quo. So they stay stuck, settling for tools that serve shareholders more than users.
Core Principles That Guide My Work
My approach is rooted in values that prioritize people, ethics, and sustainability over profit and growth. Here’s what drives me:
Small Tech Over Big Tech
I don’t believe in scaling for scale’s sake. I embrace ‘small tech’—human-scale, ethical solutions that prioritize impact over growth. Think steady, incremental progress and even descaling where needed.
Decentralization Over Centralization
Centralized systems lock us in. I advocate for decentralized tools—open-source, community-owned, and self-hosted where possible.
Public Good Over Profits
Profits should serve people, not the other way around. My focus is on human and public good first.
Collaboration Over Competition
I believe in collaboration over competition. Sharing knowledge, clients, and resources with aligned partners is how we create real change.
Reduce Cloud & Carbon Footprint (DeGrow)
Big Tech’s cloud is a black box—environmentally and ethically. I promote ethical hosting, self-hosting, and reducing our digital footprint.
Reclaim Digital Life
We need to reclaim our digital lives from surveillance capitalism. That means migrating to open-source, privacy-respecting tools and breaking free from Big Tech’s lock-in.
Simplicity Over Complexity
“Complexity creates dependency. I focus on simple, accessible solutions—no unnecessary bloat.*
These principles guide everything I do—from how I work with clients to the tools and partners I choose. If these values resonate with you, let’s connect and explore how we can work together.
